The Sound View Beach Association, Inc. is a voluntary, non-profit 501(c)(3) civic organization in Old Lyme, CT. A community based charitable organization; the SVBA sponsors services and events for the entire the Sound View Beach community and surrounding area. As one of our primary goals is to improve and create gathering spaces to promote neighborliness and bring people together, the SVBA is the sponsor of the “Shoreline Community Center”. Membership in the SVBA is a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and be a part of the moving force making the Sound View Beach Community an even better summer experience. Membership is open to all property owners within Sound View, as well as Associate membership for business and others with interest in the Sound View beach area and/or the mission of the Sound View Beach Association.

Donut Fundraiser: May 28-30 Memorial Weekend, June 5, 12, 19 Sundays; June 25 through Sept. 5 Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday holidays July 4th and Labor Day. Freshly made "Sound View Donuts" on sale from 7 to 10 am or until sold out. Purchase donuts at community center or preorder here under "Doughnut Sales" heading. Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser: June 18, Saturday from 8 to 11 am. Enjoy delicious pancakes, maple syrup, sausage, orange juice, and coffee/tea. Donations adults $10, children under 8 years $5. For info, call Gail 860-463-6906.
Bingo: June 22 through August 31, Wednesdays. The doors open at 6:00 pm and game starts at 7 pm. The $17 admission charge includes 20 games, 17 regular games and 3 specials with bigger prizes. Join us for a fun evening and win some money! For info, call Bob 860-434-3745 or 860-225-9458.
Independence Day Parade: July 2, Saturday at 10 am starting from community center. There will be a marching band, VFW Honor Guard, children marchers, decorated bikes, floats, balloons, and fun, fun, fun! After the parade, numerous prizes will be awarded to children for best costume, most patriotic, funniest outfit, and best decorated bike and wagon. Kid's Outdoor Activities: July 9, 23, August 6, 20 Saturdays, 10 am at the lot across the street from the community center. Jamie will have a wide variety of games for children ages 4 to 12 to play such Whiffle Ball and relay races. If rain, canceled. Wirework Jewelry Classes Fundraiser: July 12, 19, August 2, 9, Tuesdays at 7 pm. Have you ever wanted to make your own jewelry? Explore basic jewelry techniques and wireworking skills such as wrapping, forming and hammering. Using a variety of tools, beads, copper wire, and silver-plated wire, you will create 4-6 jewelry projects, including pendants, bracelets, and rings. Each class is $40, paid one week in advance, with $10 from each admission going to the community center. Class size limit 8 people. Annual Member Dinner:
September 10, Saturday, September 10 at 5 PM. We will provide the entrees and you can bring either an appetizer or dessert to share with everyone.
