Welcome to Sound View Beach

The Sound View Beach Association, Inc. is a voluntary, non-profit 501(c)(3) civic organization in Old Lyme, CT. A community based charitable organization; the SVBA sponsors services and events for the entire the Sound View Beach community and surrounding area. As one of our primary goals is to improve and create gathering spaces to promote neighborliness and bring people together, the SVBA is the sponsor of the “Shoreline Community Center”. Membership in the SVBA is a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and be a part of the moving force making the Sound View Beach Community an even better summer experience. Membership is open to all property owners within Sound View, as well as Associate membership for business and others with interest in the Sound View beach area and/or the mission of the Sound View Beach Association.

Mission Statement:

•   Promote common good and general welfare of the people of the community by improving, preserving, and beautifying public property and facilities within Sound View Beach and surrounding areas
•   Improve and create gathering spaces to bring people together and promote neighborhood interaction
•   Provide family entertainment, educational programs, and interactive events for children and adults
•   Sponsor and support activities to benefit all community residents

Donut Fundraiser: May 29-31 Memorial Weekend, June 6, 13, 20 Sundays; June 26 through Sept. 6 Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day. Freshly made "Sound View Donuts" on sale from 7 to 10 AM or until sold out. All sale profits go to support Shoreline Community Center and staff are all volunteers. Bingo: June 23 through Sept. 8, Wednesdays. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the game starts at 7:00 PM. The $17 admission charge includes 20 games, 17 regular games and 3 specials with bigger prizes. Join us for a fun evening and win some money! For info, call Bob at 860-434-3745 or 860-225-9458.

Kid's Crafts: June 25 through August 20, Fridays from 10 to 11 AM. Children from 3 to 10 years old and parents are welcome. Jamie will have a wide variety of crafts for the children to work on. Independence Day Parade: July 3, Saturday at 10:00 AM starting from community center. There will be a marching band, VFW Honor Guard, children marchers, decorated bikes, floats, balloons, and fun, fun, fun! After parade, numerous prizes will be awarded to children for best costume, most patriotic, funniest outfit, and best decorated bike and wagon. Movie Night For Adults: July 17, Saturday at 7:30 PM. Bring your own beverages and snacks. Join us for a fun evening! No charge for movie. Donations accepted. For info, call Gail 860-463-6906.

Pasta Dinner: August 7, Saturday, doors open from 5:30 pm to 8 PM. Enjoy delicious pasta, meatballs, fresh salad, bread, desserts, and coffee. All you can eat! Walk-ins welcome. Admission adults $12, children under 8 years $6. Tickets available at door or call Val Melluzzo 860-434-7859.

The best from a lifetime of great music. A dynamic 12 piece band, with everything from swing, jazz, contemporary, traditional big band, classic rock and more.

August 19th**, - Jenny and Her Barrel House Boys
A rockin' dance band with hits from the 1950s, 1960s, swing, rock-a-billy, surf, honky-tonk, blues, and tons good old rock & roll.
